An opportunity for everyone to learn

The Open Learning Centre (OLC) at Kimberley Training Institute is always busy with students hard at work. The OLC caters for learners who want to improve their literacy, numeracy, computer and research skills. Republic of Timor-Leste’s delegates visit Kimberley TAFE

On Saturday June 4 Kimberley TAFE welcomed delegates from the Republic of Timor-Leste with a tour of its Broome Aquaculture Centre and Broome Maritime Simulation Centre facilities. The Republic of Timor-Leste has a strong interest in working closely with its neighbours in the Kimberley and Northern Territory. On this visit the delegates were looking at opportunities for Timorese workers to work and study in Australia.

Student to Jackeroo in four weeks

The inaugural Kimberley TAFE pre training pastoral industry program was run at Liveringa Station, 250km north of Broome, from February 14 to March 11, 2011. The Cert I in Rural Operations is a four -week course that provides students with practical skills and knowledge to assist with operations on a farm or cattle station.
