Student Code Of Conduct

As a quality endorsed provider of Vocational Education and Training, Kimberley TAFE endeavours to educate and prepare students for employment. Students should practise the qualities that employers demand and act in a responsible and courteous manner. Academic assessment is only one aspect of preparing for a work situation. The following principles will allow everyone to study in the most effective manner:

  • Be polite and courteous
  • Give all class members the opportunity to listen in a quiet, non-disruptive environment
  • Be punctual
  • Leave class at scheduled times or with the permission of the lecturer
  • Meet deadlines
  • Obtain class work when absent
  • Turn off mobile phones in class
  • Adhere to required dress and safety standard
  • Do not come to class under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Students undertaking training in hazardous areas must provide their own protective wear such as safety footwear that complies with Australian Standards. Students in need of emergency first aid must report to their lecturer immediately. Any accidents that require medical attention on the campus must be reported by completing an Accident/Incident Report as soon as possible. First Aid Kits are located on each campus.

EVACUATION PROCEDURES

Each campus of the Kimberley TAFE has a set procedure for evacuating the campus in the case of emergency. Every room at each campus has a diagram detailing the evacuation route and the safe assembly area for the campus. Students are asked to make themselves familiar with the procedure.
